New factory of Akzo Nobel Automotive and aerospace coatings launched in Changzhou

The factory located in the New North Industrial Park in Changzhou, whose construction area ​is over 166,000 square meter. The new plant will be composed by the production factory,the relevant warehouse, quality and control laboratory,ancillary facility and the office building.

On the foundation laying ceremony of the new factory,Mr.Jim Rees who is the Managing Director of the Akzo Nobel  Automotive and aerospace coatings business department,said:"I'm very pleased to see the project of Changzhou took an important step today.And the new factory will augment 2,500 million liters capacity per year,which can better ensure us to meet the growing local market demand,and enable us to provide customized products for the local Chinese customers.It is an important milestone in automotive and aerospace coatings business unit in China,meanwhile we are also very pleased to be able to bring contributions to the economy and sustainable development for Changzhou."

A variety of high performance coatings and the complementary products for the automotive refinish,automotive plastics and aerospace markets will be produced in the new factory.Production process and final products will be produced by the world's top technology which meet the most stringent safety and environmental requirements.

This plant will use the most advanced technology and comply with the highest health,safety and environmental (HSE) standards.It will create about 300 job opportunities to make the contributions for the local economic development.After be built in 2014,this factory will well prepared for the further investment.After that,the plant's maximum capacity can reach about 7,500 million liters per year.

Akzo Nobel in China currently has 7,400 employees and the annual sales of 2011 reach nearly 1.4 billion euros,most of which all come from the local market.The company strives to gain 20 billion yuan in 2015 of China sales.
