Dow has sold ANGUS Chemical
2014.12.09 17:07The Dow Chemical recently agreed to saleANGUS Chemical to private equity ANGUS Chemical investment firm at $ 1.2billion. The transaction is subject to approval by the relevant agencies, isexpected to be completed in the first quarter of 2015. Dow Chemical spokesmansaid the sale is not expected to impact Angus Chemical Dow Microbial Controlbusiness.
Angus Chemical mainly produces and sells nitro alkanes and theirderivatives, these products are widely used in industrial additives andintermediate products, such as metal processing, oil and gas, water treatmentand other areas of paints and coatings products, including a variety of primaryamino groups alcohols, Corrguard brand corrosion inhibitors, corrosioninhibitors produced Primene specialty amines, as well as for water-reduciblemetalworking fluid produced AEPD-85 primary amino alcohols and the like.
Dow previously announced its intention to sell the business in AngusOctober 2, including the Angus business headquarters in Buffalo Grove,Illinois, R & D center, the United States and production facilities inGermany, in Niagara Falls, NY packaging equipment and related business,inventory, customer contracts, technology, management know-how and certainintellectual property rights. Under the agreement, Angus will continue tofulfill all customer, vendor contracts and licenses and related agreements. Dowacquired ANGUS Chemical in 2000.
