SINOPEC'S BIODEGRADABLE PLASTICS "ADD GREEN" TO THE BEIJING WINTER OLYMPICS

 On September 14, according to the News Office of Sinopec, Beijing Petroleum, a subsidiary of Beijing Petroleum Corporation, recently donated 100,000 Yijie brand biodegradable plastic bags to Zhangshanying Town, where the Yanqing competition area of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics is located, mainly for venue services and citizens’ lives. Required. This is one of Sinopec's practical actions to provide clean energy and high-quality services for the Winter Olympics. It will effectively reduce plastic pollution during the operation of the games and contribute to the "Green Winter Olympics".

 Yijie brand biodegradable plastic bags are manufactured by commissioned production of PBAT biodegradable plastic produced by Yizheng Chemical Fiber. Compared with common degradable plastic bags, the plastic bags are more durable, have better thermal stability, mechanical properties, and excellent biodegradability. Under composting conditions, they can be completely degraded into water and carbon dioxide, effectively reducing plastic pollution.

 Sinopec is actively deploying biodegradable material industrialization development. In January 2021, the affiliated Beijing Petroleum actively promotes the application of degradable plastic products in express packaging, catering products and other fields, leading the social trend of low-plastic life. In April 2021, Sinopec launched the Plastic Recycling Green Action Alliance initiative. In May 2021, the affiliated Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry has formed a complete technology research and development chain and value chain in the field of industrialization development of the entire process of biodegradable materials. At present, Sinopec is working hard to create a new model of plastic recycling economy, and has realized the industrial production of PBST, PBAT and PBSA three types of biodegradable plastics, which strongly promotes the green development of my country's engineering plastics field.

 Provide clean energy and contribute to the "Green Winter Olympics". Sinopec adheres to the concept of "clean energy to fuel the Winter Olympics", and strives to provide clean products for the Beijing Winter Olympics, provide clean services for the integration of ice and snow sports into people's lives, and practice clean actions to light up dreams and a better life. In March 2020, Yanshan Petrochemical's new hydrogen energy supply project for the Beijing Winter Olympics was completed and put into production. In addition, 50 Winter Olympic image stores will be built around the competition venues in Beijing city, Yanqing and Chongli. A few days ago, Sinopec announced the full launch of hydrogen energy services for the Winter Olympics, and four hydrogen refueling stations planned to be constructed in the two major competition areas of Chongli and Yanqing to serve the Winter Olympics were officially put into operation.
