Paint preservatives

Paint preservatives can inhibit paint Rot-causing microorganisms to prevent paint demulsification deterioration.

Coating materials include pigments,fillers,colorants,emulsions and resins, thickeners,dispersing agents,antifoaming agents,leveling agents,film forming auxiliaries,etc.These raw materials contain water and nutrients,susceptible to bacterial contamination of the latex paint viscosity decline,corruption,the gasification,demulsification,and other harmful physical and chemical changes.In order to ensure the quality of products in the products of latex paint,add preservatives is effective.

The correct use of antiseptic can ensure that the paint is not against bacteria and algae.Most of the antiseptic fungicides microbial contact,so that the variability of the microbial protein,reducing the activity of its cells,and promote the death of bacteria.To ensure that the antiseptic effective sterilization,not only to ensure that the added amount of the fungicide higher than the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the bactericidal capacity,but also to ensure that the fungicide uniformly distributed in the paint,so as to effectively kill parts of the bacteria of atex paint cans.General antiseptic coating formulations should not be less than 0.1%, under hard environmental conditions,such as severe water quality or contamination of raw materials,and the hot ambient temperature should be appropriate to increase.

At abroad for paint preservatives more varieties.Early major organic mercury and organic tin,phenol and formaldehyde,toxic to humans and animals, environmental pollution is serious,some developed countries have banned its use.At present,domestic and foreign has tended to use high efficiency,low toxicity, environmental protection coating preservatives,these coatings preservatives including isothiazolinone derivatives (such as:Nordes C15 preservative),benzo triazole ester (Nordes EPW m),Victoria Road,Hill-75,1,2-benzo isothiazolin TPP-3-ketone (BIT) and a variety of other preservatives compound mixture.
