The South African Council of CSIR successfully developed from calcium
2013.07.19 08:29According to the South African Council of Science and Industry Research (CSIR) website news, the Council researchers successfully developed from calcium-rich industrial solid waste recycling high quality calcium carbonate,a new technology, recently filed a patent application.Calcium carbonate has a wide range of industrial uses, such as gastric acid treatment, pharmaceutical tablets packing,Plastic Surgery, paints, adhesives, and pulp and paper and other fields.
South Africa, electricity, energy, water treatment, paper and many other industries are significant emissions of waste to be processed through the ground point,or landfill manner.National legislation for landfill disposal requirements are becoming more stringent, requiring innovative approaches to take other waste treatment.According to the Science and Industry Research Council of bio-chemical research personnel, the use of the technology for waste processing, you can create jobs, while reducing the number of environmentally hazardous solid waste.
The newly developed technology contains three steps of:mineral acids from the solid waste was filtered calcium;with ammonium hydroxide to neutralize the filtrate was subjected to treatment;calcium-rich solution with the acidification of the carbon to produce high quality calcium carbonate.
