Automotive plastics consumption will remain 13.4%/year rate of rapid growth

According to reports,MarketsandMarkets study reported that over the next five years the global automotive plastics consumption will remain 13.4%/year rate of rapid growth,the market value will be $21.617 billion in 2012 surged to $46.112 billion in 2018.2012 Asia-Pacific region to become the world's largest automotive plastics consumption areas,accounting for 50.5%,followed by Europe (28%),North America (11.3%),as well as elsewhere in the world (10.1%).

In the plastic varieties,polypropylene consumption accounts for 37% of the total,followed by polyurethane (PU) (17.3%),ABS copolymer (12.3%),composite materials (11.5%),high density polyethylene (HDPE) (10.8%),polycarbonate (PC) (6.8%) and poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) (4.4%),since these materials have been forming processability,compared to other materials,cheaper and easily available.

In order to meet the development needs of lightweight vehicles,such as composite materials,fiber reinforced plastics and polymers have been widely used in automobile production,especially in the automotive interior,exterior,automotive under-hood parts large area.Automotive plastics as a preferred alternative to lightweight vehicles can not only provide excellent performance,such as excellent impact strength,easy to mold,more beautiful,with traditional materials such as high-speed steel (HSS) and aluminum auto parts compared to,the weight can be reduced.
