Strict environment supervision increased problems in API industry

Recently,Chinese API industry suffered severe challenges.On the one hand,the low pace of export growth.First half of 2013,amounts of exports only increase by 3.08%;quantity of exports only increase by 7.46%.On the other hand,profitability is weak.The first half of 2013,the average unit price of export decreased by 4.07%.

CSCeconomic consulting medicine and medical industry researcher Zhang Ruiwen think the main reasons of API export downturn are that the slow economic recovery in developed countries,currency devaluation in emerging market countries,diminished medical consumption;Meanwhile,overcapacity,intense competition and increasing environmental costs lead to API profitability decline.

The many varieties,large yield and cheap price take good advantage in the pharmaceutical market.If the enterprises stop the vicious competition and add some profits into environmental treatment,then the whole industry will have a huge virtuous circle;If we want to breakthrough 'bottleneck' of API industry,Transfer the low-margin APIs to the characteristics APIs and higher-margin products,at the same time actively develop new generic APIs.
