Dyes and pigments (coating) analysis on the advantages and disadvantages for inkjet printing

     For years engaged in digital printing industry friends,is familiar to the ink,what is a reactive dye,what is the dispersion and acid dyes,what is the coating.However,want to have further development in the digital printing industry,we can't just stay on the reactive dyes for cotton and silk printing,printed disperse dyes used for polyester and other synthetic fiber,acid dye used for printing on wool is used not only on the silk printing,coating can be applied in different fabrics,although know the insider is a must, but want to innovation,to develop,also need to have a deeper understanding,let's share the relevant contents of the dyes and pigments.
     Used for inkjet printing colorants are divided into two kinds,namely water soluble dyes and water insoluble organic or inorganic pigments.
     Main advantage of the dye colorant is complete chromatography,bright colors,high color strength,good water soluble,ink to make convenient,low cost,easy to make a high concentration of ink,and the stability of the ink is good,not easy to plug nozzle,high print quality,suitable for inkjet printing quickly,there is no ecological environmental problems.General is water-soluble dye,moisturizing agent,agent,viscosity regulator,PH regulator,fungicide mixture type water base ink with pure water.At present most printing inks for the commercialization of the ink-jet printing machine using fall into this category.
     By the dye colorant preparation of water-based ink printing printing products there are water resistant fastness and light fastness,easy contamination such as poor.Especially at present due to the additional value is very high ink jet printing on textiles,also to the requirement of fastness is significantly higher than normal fabric.
     Application of pigment (coating) to inkjet printing has caused wide attention.For inkjet printing ink pigment particle size in,for nozzle clogging,rheological property and stability of the ink.Pigment ink is also restricted by viscosity,it is hard to print color deeper patterns,it also limits the research and development of it.
     Pigment stain the biggest advantage is its high light fastness and washing fastness.But paint does not dissolve in water,used in paint colorants made type water-based ink,usually must be pigment grinding into fine powder,spread with a surfactant or polymer dispersant,suspended in the water made of water-based ink.Type water-based ink for thermodynamic instability on the system,it is difficult to mixture stability good high concentrations of ink.Due to reasons such as surface tension,the pigment stains tend to gather in the water,so the printing color intensity is low,package color is gorgeous,design is not clear,and easy plug nozzle.In addition,the pigment stains also exist chromatography is not complete,colour and lustre is bright enough,make the shortcomings of high cost of ink.So really the commercialization of pigment type ink-jet printing ink is very limited.
     Dyes and pigments in ink-jet printing (paint),the biggest difference is that the dye is a chemical reaction,and pigment (coating) are mainly physical reaction,in the daily production,we should be according to customer requirements for color fastness and brilliance,and silk,to choose a different ink.
