2012 new standards of the International Oeko

The International Oeko-Tex Association announced the latest OEKO -TEX® Standard of the 100 Textiles harmful substances test standard and limited requirements in the annual meeting as usual, which will take effect from January 1st,2012,and put into practice from April 1.Re-evaluation of the test parameters was based on the development of the current market and products,the newly discovered toxic substances and the new regulations’ requirements, which considering the REACH regulations simultaneously,including the hazardous substances related to textile production which has joined the REACH SVHC list in 2011.

According to the current version of the REACH candidate list and the newly reached consensus,the wet spinning fiber and coating will detect the N – methyl-2-pyrrolidone and dimethylacetamide project.These two kinds of chemical substances will be listed in the new project named "solvent residue",its restricted value is required to not exceed the weight ratio of 0.1%.

In addition,some relevant samples have to be detected for the four new plasticizer,Phthalate C6-8 branched chain alkyl ester, Phthalate C7-1-branched alkyl esters,Diethyl phthalate, bis(2-methoxyethyl) phthalate.These will be incorporated into phthalic acid ester project,the total limited value requirements stay the same as 0.1% of the weight ratio.Similar to the disable requirements of the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 1000 environmental friendly production field authentication framework for APEO d,NP, NPEOS (1-9),OP,OPEOS (1-2) will also be fit into the authentication request of the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification requirements.

The following restrict values apply to all the four product levels,NP(100PPM),OP(100PPM),NPEO(1-9)S(1000PPM),OPEO(1-2)S(100P0PM).As soon as the new standard is released,the test begins to carry out.In order to give the company enough time to adjust the production standard,the government allows the manufacturing enterprises have a transition period of the adjustment,the exact effective date is the April 1,2013,but not apply to OEKO-TEX from STANDARD 1000 certified company for it has already measured up.

For the IV grade Ieather products,chrome restricted requirement is 10MG/KG.Different from the normal chrome restricted requirement of the best-qualified textile products in the current market,this kind of Ieather products wouldn’t do harm to the human body.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 1000’s new requirement and new application form can be downloaded from the Internet.

Apart from the new test parameters,the worldwide OEKO-TEX® certified products’ quality assurance proportion will extend to 20% of annual certified products,the least monitoring ratio will be 15%.18% certified products which bought from the store do the monitoring test,and all of the charges are undertaken by the international OEKO-TEX Association.OEKO-TEX® STANDARD  1000 now receive the special product certification,such as tents, baby carriages,office chairs and backpack.
