May 2025 Customs Data: Titanium Ore and Titanium Dioxide Imports and Exports

According to customs data, China imported 388,000 tonnes of titanium ore in May 2025, down 8.1% year on year and down 7.4% from the previous month.

The top three sources were Mozambique (196,100 tonnes), Australia (103,200 tonnes) and Senegal (39,300 tonnes).

From January to May 2025, China's cumulative titanium ore imports reached approximately 2.1847 million tonnes, up 13.5% year on year.

China exported approximately 136,000 tonnes of titanium dioxide in May, down 8.1% from the previous month and down 8.7% year on year.

Of this, sulphate-process titanium dioxide accounted for 111,000 tonnes, down 5.9% month on month, while chloride-process titanium dioxide accounted for 24,900 tonnes, down 18.1% month on month.

From January to May 2025, cumulative titanium dioxide exports reached approximately 785,000 tonnes, down 1.5% year on year. Sulphate-process exports totalled 631,800 tonnes, down 1.6% year on year, and chloride-process exports totalled 152,800 tonnes, down 0.7% year on year.
