Product detail

Four plastic additive families, by what they do in the polymer.

The brochure groups plastic additives by what they do in the polymer. Every grade lists its CAS number and the resins where it works, so your formulator can match it against a known reference before you order.

Hindered phenol · phosphite · thioester

Chemtechnox antioxidants

Primary hindered phenols 1010, 1076, 1098 and 3114; phosphites 168 and 626; thioester 300; ready blends 215 and 900. Processing and long-term thermal stability for PE, PP, PA, PS, ABS and polyester.

Benzophenone · benzotriazole · HALS

Chemtechsorb light stabilizers

UV absorbers from BP-12 (UV-531) to UV-326, 327, 328 and 1577, plus HALS 292, 962 and 123. Grades for PVC, PP, PE, ABS, PU, coatings and inks; UV-1130 comes as a liquid for waterborne systems.

Optical brighteners · beta-diketones

Whitening agents and PVC heat stabilizers

OB, OB-1, KCB, KSN and ER brighteners give bluish white to PVC, PS, PE, PP, ABS, EVA foam, polyester melt and fibers. Beta-diketones and co-stabilizers hold color in PVC bottles, profiles and emulsion PVC.

Plastic Additives
01What are plastic additives?

Chemicals mixed into a polymer to make it survive processing and service life. Without them polyethylene yellows in the extruder and a PVC profile chalks in the sun. Our range covers antioxidants, UV absorbers and HALS, optical brighteners and PVC heat stabilizers.

02What are the four types of additives?

In our brochure they group by job. Antioxidants for processing and long term heat, from hindered phenols 1010 and 1076 to phosphite 168. Light stabilizers, benzophenone, benzotriazole and HALS. Optical brighteners such as OB-1 and KSN. Heat stabilizers for PVC, including beta diketones.

03What are antioxidant polymer additives?

They stop the chain reaction that oxygen and heat start in a polymer. Primary antioxidants, the hindered phenols, catch the radicals. Secondary ones, phosphites and thioesters, break down the peroxides. Most compounds run a blend of both, which is why we sell ready blends 215 and 900.

04What are polymer additives used for?

To hold color, strength and surface through the process and through years of service. Wire and cable insulation with 1010 and 168, PVC windows and siding with UV absorbers and heat stabilizers, polyester and PA fibers brightened in the melt with KSN and OB-1.

05Which polymer additives are added to improve flexibility?

Plasticizers, and we do not make them. Our line covers stabilization: antioxidants, UV protection, brighteners and PVC heat stabilizers. Send your formulation to the additives division and they tell you straight which part of it we can supply.
