A dye molecule built with one chromium atom shared across two dye molecules, so the metal that used to be a separate mordant step is already in the dye. Dragonneutral is built this way: it strikes wool at near-neutral pH, no mordanting step, and still holds strong wash and light fastness.

Dragonneutral is a 1:2 metal complex dye, the metal is already in the molecule, so it dyes wool at neutral pH in one step. Dragonmordant is a classic chrome dye: it needs a separate chrome mordanting step, which trades convenience for the deepest fastness a wool dye can reach.

An acid bath can felt or yellow wool if it runs too long or too hot. Dragonneutral strikes at near-neutral pH because the metal is already built into the dye, so the fibre sees a gentler bath and the dye still levels fast, with 27 shades from Yellow 5GL to Black M-5RL in the brochure.
