Back to Brazil: Strengthening the Bridge to South America

In early October, Chairman Yuan Junjie traveled to Brazil for market research and business talks, aiming to take full stock of the Brazilian market, strengthen HONGDA's channels across South America, and lay reliable groundwork for the next stage of our business there. In just a few days, Chairman Yuan and the accompanying team visited several trading partners and companies HONGDA had worked with for years, deepening mutual understanding and trust and discussing how to take the partnership further.

While visiting Fortaleza, in the state of Ceará, Chairman Yuan, in his capacity as President of the CCPIT Ningbo Chemical Industry Branch, called on the city's mayor, Mr. Guaiuba, and was received warmly. Mayor Guaiuba described Fortaleza's fast-growing industries, chemicals among them, and praised Chairman Yuan's long effort to advance China-Brazil trade, expressing hope for deeper cooperation with Chinese industry, especially chemicals.

Chairman Yuan thanked the mayor for his hospitality and described the work of the CCPIT Ningbo Chemical Industry Branch under China's Belt and Road strategy, along with the rapid growth of Ningbo's port industries and petrochemical sector. He invited the mayor to visit Ningbo when the time was right, and helped arrange a visit by a Fortaleza trade delegation the following month. The mayor accepted with pleasure.

During the stay in Fortaleza, Chairman Yuan, accompanied by local business federation leaders, also toured several chemical companies, gaining a fuller picture of the city's industrial development. It was, in every sense, a trip to strengthen a bridge HONGDA had first built with Brazil back in 2001.
