Beyond Dyes: A New Canvas

The year 2000 marked more than a new millennium. For HONGDA, it marked a new direction.

We had spent nearly a decade mastering dyes. But the chemical world is vast, and we could see new horizons. One of them was coatings.

Coatings, paints, inks and protective finishes, require raw materials with properties very different from dyes. They need pigments: colored particles that don't dissolve, but disperse. They need lightfastness, weather resistance, stability over time.

We began developing coating raw materials. We built new capabilities. We started producing pigments and related products. It was a departure from our core business, but it was also a natural evolution, leveraging our chemical expertise into adjacent markets.

This wasn't about abandoning our roots. It was about growing new branches from a strong trunk. HONGDA was becoming more than a dye company. We were becoming a chemical solutions company.
