A Move into the Petrochemical Zone: HONGDA Acquires the Former Ningbo Rubber Plant Site
On the afternoon of October 26, 2012, HONGDA signed the agreement that would carry the company into a new chapter: the acquisition of the former plant site of Ningbo Rubber Co., Ltd.

The ceremony took place at the Ningbo Marriott Hotel, in the presence of senior leaders from both sides. Yu Baofu, former Director of the Ningbo Economic Commission and former Director of the Chemical Industry Bureau, presided over the signing. He introduced the project, walked through the negotiation between the two companies, and congratulated both parties on reaching an agreement built on trust.
General Manager Yuan Junjie signed on behalf of HONGDA. Ms. Dorila, CEO of Ningbo Rubber Co., Ltd., signed on behalf of the seller. The ceremony was brief, but warm, carried by the same sincerity that had defined the negotiation itself.
The site told its own story: 33 mu inside the Ningbo Petrochemical Economic and Technological Development Zone, with standardized plant buildings, office space, and supporting facilities already in place. For HONGDA, it was more than square footage. It was room to grow.

The plan was set from day one: partner with research institutions to build an R&D base on the site, one that could serve HONGDA and other enterprises across the Development Zone alike, providing testing capability and technology development the region needed.
It was a quiet transaction, closed with a handshake and a group photo rather than headlines. But it marked a shift in how HONGDA saw itself: no longer only a manufacturer and trader, but a company ready to invest in the infrastructure of its own industry.
