President He Koubao of the Shanghai New Materials Association and Shanghai Coatings and Dyestuff Association Visits Ningbo and Hongda Group
On July 16, 2020, a delegation from the Shanghai New Materials Association and the Shanghai Coatings and Dyestuff Association, led by President He Koubao, visited Ningbo for talks with the Ningbo Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The guests also visited Hongda Group, the chair company of the Ningbo Chemical Industry Council, where the two sides exchanged information and shared technical and business experience in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The purpose of the visit was to explore bringing the Yangtze River Delta Graphene Industry Innovation Association into the China International New Materials Technology and Industry Expo, thereby helping Ningbo companies raise their overall level of R&D and manufacturing. The approach combines advanced manufacturing with international trade, focusing on building an advanced manufacturing base and expanding imports of technology and equipment, in order to serve advanced manufacturing in Ningbo and nationwide and to help create a national demonstration zone for high-quality manufacturing and a pilot area for integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
During the visit, Chen Yirong, Vice President of the Ningbo Council for the Promotion of International Trade, accompanied the guests on a tour of the Ningbo Exhibition Center for an overview of the city's exhibition sector. Chairman Yuan Junjie briefed the guests on the international operations of Ningbo's chemical companies, the internet economy and the current state of China's international markets, emphasizing that foreign trade is a defining trend for the Chinese economy under present conditions.
President He Koubao expressed the hope that close cooperation between Shanghai and Ningbo would accelerate the growth of the Yangtze River Delta graphene industry in Ningbo. Using graphene as a starting point, companies in the sector could work together on industrial applications with real market potential, tackle key shared technical challenges, and strengthen the industry's capacity for innovation and competition, so that China's graphene sector can meet urgent domestic demand in high-technology fields, expand industrial applications and drive development across the value chain. He also expressed willingness to take part in the China International New Materials Technology and Industry Expo to be held in Ningbo at the end of the year, promoting broader exchange and cooperation in new materials, technologies and equipment, in step with the current wave of global technological and industrial change, and better integrating into global innovation and high-technology value chains.
The exchange concluded successfully, with both sides finding it highly worthwhile and laying a solid foundation for long-term cooperation.
